Japan’s Akazawa: Agriculture will not be compromised in US tariff talks
Japan's Economy Minister Ryosei Akazawa said early Tuesday he shares Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s stance that agriculture will not be compromised to protect the auto industry in US tariff talks.
Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato is scheduled to visit Washington later this week, where he is expected to meet US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to discuss currency rates.

Hence, Trump wants to focus on these three nations when imposing tariffs. He also plans to use the revenue generated through tariffs to lower personal income taxes.
