While these game titles were expected under this category, others were snubbed to land a nomination for it. Helldivers 2 became a popular game and proved that Sony can also make a hit out of a live service game. Secondly, Silent Hill 2 which did receive several other nominations like Best Narrative and Best Score couldn’t get into the GOTY nomination. This might be a shock to the fans who were rooting for this title. Furthermore, there was discussion for Dragon Age: The Veilguard to be pushed by journalists for this category, but it did not. Nintendo’s game The Legend of Zelda: Echoes Wisdom also did not make up to the most prestigious category as well. Even though these titles were not nominated for the GOTY category, they were put under the nominations of multiple other categories.
