Bend Studio highlighted that Days Gone Remastered will be brought to new life by the PlayStation 5 console due to its improved features. The features include improved graphical fidelity, increased foliage draw distance, improved shadow and lighting quality, Tempest 3D Audio, VRR support, and more.
The game will let players select their preferred playing experience between Quality mode for increased resolution and Performance mode for improved frame rates. Bend Studio also said that the added power of the PS5 Pro will make Days Gone look even better on PlayStation.
“Accessible play is important to us at Bend Studio. Days Gone Remastered gave us the opportunity to expand our suite of accessibility features, allowing even more players to enjoy the world.” – Kevin McAllister, Creative and Product Lead, Bend Studio.
The company highlighted that the new accessible features will include: High Contrast mode, Game Speed, UI Narration, Collectible Audio Cues, Controller Remapping, Field of View slider, and more.
The gaming studio said that Days Gone will come with Horde Assault, which will offer fresh and unexpected gameplay. The new survival arcade mode is designed to challenge your skill as you try to achieve a high score while surviving as long as possible against increased horde sizes and various other enemies.
Horde assault will allow you to travel across familiar regions found in the story, including the Cascade, Beldnap, Lost Lake, and Crater Lake. The company also warned that “This World Comes For You” because you are required to fight your way through a brutal, ever-changing landscape. Enemies in the game will escalate in difficulty the longer you survive, and you can earn in-mode rewards as you move up in level. The mode will also come with never-before-playable characters, new patch cosmetics, and unique injectors.
The game will also have a challenge of the compelling story of Deacon St. John’s journey in a single playthrough called Permadeath mode. Bend Studio said that your skill will be tested to the limit, and mastery is required to conquer Permadeath mode, where everything is out to kill you. The game will also have a setting where you must return to the beginning of the game if you die or the start of the second act to try your luck again.
Bend Studio said that you will be awarded a special graphic recording of the time it took you to complete the Permadeath mode. Once you conquer it, you will also receive a shiny new PlayStation Trophy.
The gaming company revealed that Days Gone Remastered will get another game mode at launch: Speedrun mode. This mode will equip you with nitrous and require you to play through the story as quickly as possible.
The game developer also disclosed an Enhanced Photo Mode for all virtual photographers. The Photo mode will receive improvements such as time-of-day settings, a three-point lighting system, and new logo options.
