Google Whisk, which was only available in the US can now be found in more than 100 countries. However, Whisk is not available in countries and regions like India, Indonesia, the EU, and the UK.
Google officially made the announcement on its social media platforms. Google Whisk has plenty of image-generation tools that create images through text prompts, and it provides tools for users to drag and drop up to three images for subject, scene, and style and remix them into a new creation powered by the Imagen 3 model.
Google explained, “Whisk lets you input images for the subject, one for the subject, one for the scene, and another image for the style. Then, you can remix them to create something uniquely your own, from a digital plushie to an enamel pin or sticker.”

However, Google said that because Whisk only focuses on a few key characteristics from each image, the results are not perfect. For instance, the generated subject could differ in height, weight, hairstyle, or skin tone.
To get closer to your expectations, the company advises viewing and editing the underlying prompts at any time.
The Gemini AI model has been used to analyze pictures, extract the most important details, and write a full description. Here’s where Google’s Imagen 3 picture generation model comes in: to take this description and turn it into a final image.
Apple’s Image Playground also allows the creation of images in a similar manner by combining styles and subjects.
According to the company, this approach allows for unique and creative remixing of visual elements. It enables users to generate novel images that capture the essence of their input rather than simply just copying it.
Google said, “In our early testing with artists and creatives, people have been describing Whisk as a new type of creative tool — not a traditional image editor. We built it for rapid visual exploration, not pixel-perfect edits. It’s about exploring ideas in new and creative ways, allowing you to work through dozens of options and download the ones you love.”
The countries that have been left out all have unsettled business with Google to some extent. Therefore, it is not a surprise. Beginning with the EU, a group of 32 European media organizations sued Google last year. They asked for about €2.1 billion in damages. The media groups say they incurred losses due to a less competitive market.
The statement said, “Without Google’s abuse of its dominant position, the media companies would have received significantly higher revenues from advertising and paid lower fees for ad tech service.”
Also, Google faced a probe under the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in the UK for Google’s dominant position in search and advertising. The CMA was concerned about Google’s unfairness in favoring its services and hurting competition among other search engines and businesses.
In addition, the CMA also looked into how Google’s actions affected consumers, news publishers, and rival search engines.
In Indonesia, Google has problems with its Play Store payment system. An Indonesian antitrust agency fined Google $12.4 million for allegedly abusing its dominant market position by forcing app developers to use Google Play billing at higher rates, which is against anti-monopoly laws.
However, Google plans to appeal the decision. The American company says that its actions are legal in Indonesia and support a competitive app ecosystem.
