Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang kicked off the keynote with product announcements, introducing new GeForce graphics cards for gaming PCs.

Nvidia announced on Monday at CES in Las Vegas that these new GPUs are built on the same Blackwell architecture used in the chipmakers’ AI accelerators.

The tech giant began as a maker of video game graphics cards, but its focus is now on data center chips. However, the AI chipmaker’s gaming GPUs are still popular, accounting for nearly $10 billion per year.

Nvidia’s GPUs will use AI to predict the upcoming frames

In the future, Blackwell’s AI elements will be utilized in the upcoming GeForce 50 series to ensure ultra-real gaming visuals. These new GPUs will calculate the shading of each pixel like old-fashioned graphics cards, but instead of remaking each frame, they’ll use AI to predict what’s coming next.

“GeForce allowed AI to reach the masses, and now AI is coming home to GeForce,” said Huang in the presentation.

Nvidia also pointed out improvements for laptops that promise longer battery life. PC gamers can now enjoy responsiveness and realism without compromise.

The top-tier RTX 5090, which costs $1,999, will be out of the market this month, while the $549 RTX 5070, which outclasses the RTX 4090, will be available in February.

Nvidia’s primary revenue stream, gaming, has been exceeded by its booming data center business, which is forecast to reach $100 billion this year.
