Call of Duty Black Ops 6’s new store bundles caused a stir after hinting at the return of an iconic perk in the game’s Zombies mode. The speculation about the Double Tap perk was sparked after gamers noted new additions made by Treyarch through its frequent updates. The popular perk was last included in Black Ops 3.

Black Ops 6 has been the talk of the town since its release on October 25th, with many gamers immersing themselves in the game’s much-lauded Zombie mode. Nearly a month after its release, Treyarch has yet to lift its foot off the gas, with the developers adding more content that has kept the gamers engaged and bursting with enthusiasm about what is to come next.

Gamers identify new Zombie perk hints

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 players have been poring over the game to pick up hints at the new content and features that are set to be included in the shooter game. Gamers were quick to identify clues with m7mdx20, first noticing that Season 1’s store bundles teased the possible return of the Double Tap perk. The store bundle contained two items that referenced the popular perk unique to Zombies mode. Gamers also noted the Tombstone insignia referencing a similarly named perk engraved on the hilt of the M4 foregrip in the M4 raygun schematic.

The IDEAD Mastercraft bundle in the Black Ops 6 store contained the two Double Tap hints. The Big Boomer skin is embossed with the words “Double Tap” on the weapon’s side. The Double Tap logo is also embossed on a charm attached to the belt of the Repairman Black Ops 6 Operator. After being revealed, gamers online were quick to conclude that the items possibly hinted at the return of the iconic Zombies mode perk. The inclusion of these clues came about after the frequent updates released by Treyarch, the American video game company behind the game.

The Double Tap perk is a classic perk, having featured repeatedly in the franchise’s Zombie mode. The Double Tap perk enables players to have more firepower, increasing the weapons’ rate of fire as well as adding an extra bullet to double damage without consuming extra ammunition. Formerly, the perk took the form of a perk-a-cola that players could purchase from vending machines found in Zombies maps in Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty World at War. The Zombies perk also appeared as an upgraded version of the original perk in Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3.

Gamers debate over the inclusion of the Double Tap perk

Treyarch, the Black Ops 6 developers, continued to keep gamers appeased by adding even more content to the shooter in daily updates. The inclusion of the “Double Tap” perk hints on the store items resulted in gamers stating how much they wanted the perk back, as well as making requests for more features and content to be included.

“Didn’t BO4 have a Blueprint or Mastercraft that referenced Jugg and it never came.”

However, some gamers were skeptical about the perk’s hinted inclusion, stating that the developer was playing on gamers’ nostalgia. The skeptical gamers stated that the perk may not live to see the light of day, as in the case of the classic Juggernog perk. The Double Tap perk was previously hinted at in Black Ops 4 but was never incorporated into the game.
