Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Machinery and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.86% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Compucase Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3032) added 9.98% or 6.60 points to end at 72.70 and Lien Chang Electronic Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2431) was up 9.84% or 1.55 points to 17.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included HiTi Digital Inc (TW:3494), which lost 55.00% or 9.63 points to trade at 7.88 in late trade. Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593) declined 9.91% or 1.15 points to end at 10.45 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) shed 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.20% or 0.14 to $69.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $73.49 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 12.60 to trade at $2,627.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.15% to 32.43, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 106.21.
