Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.16% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC), which rose 2.04% or 1.44 points to trade at 71.86 at the close. Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB) added 0.70% or 0.45 points to end at 65.10 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) was up 0.45% or 0.22 points to 48.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 3.01% or 2.60 points to trade at 83.65 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 2.04% or 1.15 points to end at 55.30 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) shed 1.55% or 0.90 points to 57.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 30 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.75% or 45.10 to $2,615.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.93% or 1.96 to hit $68.88 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.84% or 2.02 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 106.25.
