Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil&Gas, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.12%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 1.67% or 0.44 points to trade at 26.55 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 1.58% or 0.65 points to end at 41.83 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.18% or 1.16 points to 99.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which lost 2.01% or 0.49 points to trade at 23.67 in late trade. Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) declined 1.65% or 0.15 points to end at 8.94 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) shed 1.17% or 2.60 points to 220.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 14.33% to 0.24, Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which was up 10.91% to settle at 42.30 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 4.36% to close at 6.11.
The worst performers were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was down 3.35% to 317.00 in late trade, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which lost 3.18% to settle at 8.46 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 3.12% to 2.11 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 291 to 210 and 82 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.71% or 43.95 to $2,614.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.88% or 1.93 to hit $68.85 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.79% or 1.98 to trade at $73.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 106.28.
