Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 2.03% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.01 at the close. Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) added 1.99% or 0.04 points to end at 2.05 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 1.40% or 0.08 points to 5.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which lost 4.14% or 0.22 points to trade at 5.10 in late trade. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) declined 3.76% or 0.14 points to end at 3.58 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 3.04% or 0.03 points to 0.89.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 31 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.74% or 44.65 to $2,614.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.85% or 1.91 to hit $68.83 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.79% or 1.98 to trade at $73.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 106.40.
