Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI), which rose 4.84% or 1.25 points to trade at 27.06 at the close. Mediobanca Banca di Credito Finanziario SpA (BIT:MDBI) added 2.46% or 0.35 points to end at 14.80 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) was up 2.05% or 2.15 points to 107.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which lost 3.88% or 0.98 points to trade at 24.17 in late trade. Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) declined 3.30% or 2.08 points to end at 60.92 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) shed 2.74% or 0.16 points to 5.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 327 to 193 and 44 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.79% or 1.23 to $67.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.56% or 1.13 to hit $71.43 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 5.50 to trade at $2,567.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.54% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 106.52.
