Belgium shares lower at close of trade; BEL 20 down 1.82%

Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.82% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 2.61% or 0.82 points to trade at 32.23 at the close. Elia (EBR:ELI) added 2.19% or 1.85 points to end at 86.25 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) was up 0.91% or 0.44 points to 48.60 in late trade.

Biggest losers included UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which lost 6.04% or 10.75 points to trade at 167.25 in late trade. Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB) declined 5.00% or 600.00 points to end at 11,400.00 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) shed 5.00% or 28.40 points to 539.80.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 28 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 7.80 to $2,565.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.70% or 1.17 to hit $67.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 1.09 to trade at $71.47 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.54% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 106.51.
