Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR:ELI), which rose 3.05% or 2.50 points to trade at 84.40 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 2.39% or 1.35 points to end at 57.80 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 2.17% or 0.56 points to 26.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which lost 2.57% or 4.70 points to trade at 178.00 in late trade. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) declined 1.00% or 0.76 points to end at 75.09 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) shed 0.32% or 0.10 points to 31.41.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 33 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 7.30 to $2,579.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.22% or 0.15 to hit $68.58 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.19 to trade at $72.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.49.
