Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Sports, Insurance and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.29% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Girisim Elektrik Taahhut Ticaret&Sanayi AS (IS:GESAN), which rose 7.95% or 3.60 points to trade at 48.90 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) added 6.01% or 5.95 points to end at 104.90 and Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS) was up 5.53% or 22.50 points to 429.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR), which lost 3.14% or 0.47 points to trade at 14.52 in late trade. Altinay Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:ALTNY) declined 2.60% or 2.40 points to end at 90.00 and Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) shed 2.49% or 0.31 points to 12.16.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 438 to 129 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 9.25 to $2,577.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.98% or 0.67 to hit $69.10 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.66 to trade at $72.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.01% to 34.35, while EUR/TRY fell 0.03% to 36.31.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 106.44.
