Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods&Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which rose 3.38% or 4.66 points to trade at 142.58 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) added 1.91% or 5.42 points to end at 288.68 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) was up 1.81% or 0.28 points to 15.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which lost 3.46% or 0.95 points to trade at 26.53 in late trade. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) declined 2.94% or 4.86 points to end at 160.72 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) shed 2.75% or 0.31 points to 10.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 127 to 99 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.97% or 25.25 to $2,581.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $68.07 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.08 to trade at $71.97 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.14% to 20.55, while EUR/MXN fell 0.73% to 21.71.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 106.39.
