Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Plastic, Machinery and Electronic Products Distribution sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. King Slide Works Co Ltd (TW:2059) added 10.00% or 130.00 points to end at 1,430.00 and Foxconn Technology Co Ltd (TW:2354) was up 9.98% or 8.70 points to 95.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ALi Corp (TW:3041), which lost 39.85% or 13.08 points to trade at 19.75 in late trade. Chien Kuo Construction Co Ltd (TW:5515) declined 20.18% or 5.54 points to end at 21.90 and GeoVision Inc (TW:3356) shed 10.86% or 7.56 points to 62.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.65% or 0.47 to $71.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.54% or 0.41 to hit $75.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 4.95 to trade at $2,700.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.12% to 32.07, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.22% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 104.37.
