Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Materials and Oil&Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 2.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which rose 7.94% or 11.45 points to trade at 155.60 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 7.58% or 6.84 points to end at 97.06 and Grupa KĘTY SA (WA:KTY) was up 6.82% or 46.00 points to 720.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Text SA (WA:TXTP), which lost 3.54% or 2.10 points to trade at 57.20 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 2.43% or 0.31 points to end at 12.25 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 1.54% or 2.80 points to 178.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 297 to 205 and 107 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.18% or 0.13 to $71.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.12% or 0.09 to hit $74.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.98% or 26.20 to trade at $2,702.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.83% to 4.31, while USD/PLN fell 1.41% to 4.00.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 104.35.
