Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Services, Computers&Peripherals and Electronic Products Distribution sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. ITE Tech Inc (TW:3014) added 9.85% or 13.50 points to end at 150.50 and Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) was up 9.80% or 215.00 points to 2,410.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ALi Corp (TW:3041), which lost 39.85% or 13.08 points to trade at 19.75 in late trade. Chien Kuo Construction Co Ltd (TW:5515) declined 20.18% or 5.54 points to end at 21.90 and GeoVision Inc (TW:3356) shed 10.86% or 7.56 points to 62.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.60% or 0.43 to $72.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.68% or 0.51 to hit $75.43 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 10.30 to trade at $2,666.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.25% to 32.27, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 104.83.
