Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.17% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which rose 2.19% or 0.78 points to trade at 36.46 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 1.18% or 0.04 points to end at 3.35 and Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) was up 0.96% or 0.23 points to 24.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 7.32% or 1.03 points to trade at 13.04 in late trade. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) declined 3.34% or 0.62 points to end at 17.79 and Kojamo (HE:KOJAMO) shed 2.93% or 0.27 points to 8.77.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 49 and 21 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.42% or 0.32 to $75.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.18% or 0.13 to hit $71.86 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 2.77% or 76.10 to trade at $2,673.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.82% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.65% at 105.03.
