Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Media, Chemicals and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP), which rose 4.05% or 0.33 points to trade at 8.47 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.94% or 0.78 points to end at 27.33 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 2.60% or 4.60 points to 181.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 3.69% or 3.30 points to trade at 86.20 in late trade. Orange Polska SA (WA:OPL) declined 3.50% or 0.28 points to end at 7.60 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 2.80% or 4.20 points to 145.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 261 to 257 and 96 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.21% or 0.15 to $71.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.49% or 0.37 to hit $75.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 2.61% or 71.65 to trade at $2,678.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.08% to 4.35, while USD/PLN rose 1.97% to 4.06.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.67% at 105.05.
