Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF:RADL3), which rose 4.13% or 1.04 points to trade at 26.22 at the close. Itausa - Investimentos Itau SA (BVMF:ITSA4) added 3.75% or 0.40 points to end at 11.07 and Itau Unibanco Banco Holding SA (BVMF:ITUB4) was up 3.54% or 1.25 points to 36.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3), which lost 4.42% or 0.36 points to trade at 7.78 in late trade. Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) declined 3.81% or 0.64 points to end at 16.15 and Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) shed 2.70% or 0.16 points to 5.77.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 478 to 453 and 58 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.73% to 36.11 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 4.70 to $2,750.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.90% or 0.64 to hit $72.11 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.05% or 5.05 to trade at $251.00 .
USD/BRL was down 0.81% to 5.74, while EUR/BRL fell 0.36% to 6.28.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 103.35.
