Finland shares lower at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 down 1.14%

Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.14% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which rose 0.37% or 0.05 points to trade at 13.53 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) added 0.28% or 0.01 points to end at 4.94 and Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE) was down 0.03% or 0.01 points to 14.68 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM), which lost 18.31% or 15.65 points to trade at 69.80 in late trade. Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:TYRES) declined 3.81% or 0.30 points to end at 7.62 and Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) shed 2.78% or 0.67 points to 23.39.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 126 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.68% or 0.49 to $72.65 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.74% or 0.51 to hit $69.12 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.78% or 49.80 to trade at $2,751.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.76% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 104.03.
