Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.84%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods&Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.84%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which rose 2.00% or 0.28 points to trade at 14.27 at the close. Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX) added 0.75% or 0.45 points to end at 60.48 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) was up 0.72% or 0.18 points to 25.21 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which lost 4.38% or 6.57 points to trade at 143.41 in late trade. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) declined 2.84% or 1.18 points to end at 40.35 and Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA) shed 2.83% or 3.50 points to 120.02.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 128 to 102 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.88% or 24.20 to $2,763.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.81% or 1.27 to hit $71.31 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $75.54 a barrel.

USD/MXN was unchanged 0.02% to 19.94, while EUR/MXN fell 0.07% to 21.54.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.89.
