Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Banking and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were BUDIMEX SA (WA:BDXP), which rose 5.74% or 32.00 points to trade at 589.50 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 5.37% or 4.74 points to end at 93.06 and Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) was up 4.07% or 5.85 points to 149.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which lost 3.90% or 17.40 points to trade at 428.60 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 2.24% or 0.63 points to end at 27.50 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 2.19% or 1.95 points to 87.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 253 to 241 and 111 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.49% or 0.36 to $73.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.66% or 0.51 to hit $76.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 2.75 to trade at $2,632.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.17% to 4.29, while USD/PLN unchanged 0.10% to 3.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 102.57.
