Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.26%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.26%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italgas SpA (BIT:IG), which rose 3.31% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.61 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) added 2.40% or 0.12 points to end at 5.12 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) was up 1.81% or 1.85 points to 104.25 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which lost 2.48% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.01 in late trade. Eni SpA (BIT:ENI) declined 2.14% or 0.31 points to end at 14.19 and Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR) shed 2.04% or 0.30 points to 14.44.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 270 to 240 and 43 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 4.39% or 3.39 to $73.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 4.37% or 3.54 to hit $77.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.25% or 33.30 to trade at $2,632.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 102.31.
