Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Natura&Co SA (BVMF:NTCO3), which rose 2.63% or 0.39 points to trade at 15.23 at the close. 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) added 2.39% or 0.43 points to end at 18.39 and Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) was up 2.05% or 0.55 points to 27.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3), which lost 5.27% or 0.44 points to trade at 7.91 in late trade. Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) declined 2.87% or 0.20 points to end at 6.77 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) shed 2.63% or 0.13 points to 4.81.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 518 to 421 and 64 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 5.47% to 31.63 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 5.75 to $2,662.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.91% or 2.91 to hit $77.29 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 4.08% or 10.50 to trade at $246.85 .
USD/BRL was up 0.58% to 5.49, while EUR/BRL fell 0.38% to 6.02.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 102.26.
