Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumption, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Natura&Co SA (BVMF:NTCO3), which rose 2.59% or 0.37 points to trade at 14.63 at the close. Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:RECV3) added 1.83% or 0.33 points to end at 18.38 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) was up 1.63% or 0.15 points to 9.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which lost 5.73% or 0.41 points to trade at 6.74 in late trade. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) declined 4.81% or 0.30 points to end at 5.94 and Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) shed 4.74% or 0.43 points to 8.64.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 625 to 303 and 53 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.70% to 28.95 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.27% or 7.15 to $2,676.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 5.39% or 3.78 to hit $73.88 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.86% or 2.20 to trade at $254.30 .
USD/BRL was up 0.60% to 5.47, while EUR/BRL rose 0.36% to 6.04.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 101.72.
