Belgium shares higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.50%

Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Beverage and Travel&Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.50% to hit a new 52-week high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which rose 2.34% or 0.56 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 2.31% or 3.75 points to end at 165.75 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was up 2.16% or 4.10 points to 194.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which lost 2.16% or 1.60 points to trade at 72.55 in late trade. KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) declined 1.60% or 1.14 points to end at 70.28 and Ackermans&Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) shed 1.21% or 2.30 points to 188.40.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 48 and 7 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.93% or 24.80 to $2,684.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.89% or 2.65 to hit $70.82 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.58% or 2.57 to trade at $74.27 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 100.98.
