Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr), which rose 0.76% or 0.02 points to trade at 1.99 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 0.72% or 0.01 points to end at 1.67 and Ideal Group SA (AT:IDEr) was up 0.68% or 0.04 points to 5.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which lost 4.64% or 0.16 points to trade at 3.29 in late trade. Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) declined 2.76% or 0.06 points to end at 1.94 and Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) shed 2.71% or 0.09 points to 3.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 106 to 17 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 6.30 to $2,536.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.17% or 0.11 to hit $65.64 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.16 to trade at $69.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.43% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 101.70.
