Treyarch announced they’re going to try to beef up Ranked Play against cheating on their latest post on X. Using Replay Investigations, they will review suspect accounts more aggressively, and speed up the time of review of flagged players.
Details are scarce, but it seems Treyarch is hiring more employees in order to better deal with these reports. The vast majority of cheaters are obvious, using something like a wallhack and aimlock, which is more easily confirmed and acted upon.
Activision said in the leadup to the launch that it would ban cheaters within an hour of their first match. Although Ranked Play demands that players win 50 matches before joining, cheaters are still somehow getting in. These cheaters could be deploying their third-party cheating tools after getting in. Moreover, consistent one-hour bans don’t seem to be happening yet. This is hopefully the first step of a longer fight against this issue from Treyarch.
Despite these problems in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, there’s a lot to pump fans’ interest. There is ongoing content in the game so far in season 1. A new Zombies map called Citadelle Des Morts will be the focus of a major update arriving on December 5. Fans then hope Treyarch keeps this momentum going.
